Saturday 30 May - AFL, Saturday Market
This morning I woke at 0500hr, which wasn’t too bad as I wanted to get up and watch the AFL game between the Hawks and the Gold Coast Suns starting at 0545hr. I watched the first 3 quarters, using my laptop connected to my iPhone as a wifi hotspot, but then realised how much of my monthly data allowance it was using (much more than in previous years). So I switched to just listening to the last quarter on radio via the laptop - much less data intensive. After an even first half, the Hawks pulled away in the third quarter to run out winners at 93-40.
After the game finished, I wandered up town to check out the Saturday Market. As usual it was pretty busy, so I bought a few supplies and checked whether I knew anyone sitting at the Compostella Cafe - alas, no luck.

However, I noticed one stall that had a number of marble-topped bedside tables, which might just work at the house, so I took a photo for future reference - they will probably be there again next week. If our trip to the Emmaus does not yield any better, then we might come back to these.
