Sunday 1 September - Garonne River reading spot, a nice quiet day

Since we were now back in our own comfy bed on Kanumbra, we took advantage of it and slept in till about 10am. While having breakfast, I realised what day it was, and so won a belated Pinch’n’Punch for September! Rita then went up to the Sunday Market, while I started writing up the website log for the previous week (which had been written longhand during the week because of the lack of power for the iPad or laptop). In the afternoon, Rita decided to ride to the piscine at Ste Nicholas, and so I joined her for the ride, which I would continue along the canal towpath while she was swimming. 15 minutes after we parted at the bridge to Ste Nicholas, she rang to say the piscine was closed for the season (since yesterday was the last day of summer)! But she stayed there and found a spot to swim in the river, while I continued cycling till I got to the fishermen’s spot on the banks of the canal and the river. Since no fishermen were there today, I took to opportunity to stop and do some reading.

Then back to the Ste Nicholas bridge to meet Rita and back to Moissac. A quick drink down at the Uvarium café on the Tarn, than back to the barge for dinner. After a week of being on the move in the car and on the hire-boat, it was nice to just relax and do very little, especially when Moissac turned on one of its fabulous sunsets.
