Progress - Ensuite 1
December 2013
Even though EnSuite 1 was somewhat functional, apart from the lack of a toilet, the decision was made to start from scratch to achieve a B&B standard ensuite. So the first job was to strip out all the existing fittings, including the sink, bath, bidet, cabinets and all the wall and floor tiles. Now the renovation can begin!
March 2014
After looking at the Ensuite 1 floorboards for a while, it became clear that these would need to be removed, and the packed earth insulation also removed, in order to do the job properly and to be able to fit all the pipework under the floor. The suspended ceiling hangers were also installed in March.
April 2014
This month has seen the installation of the toilet cistern and frame, as well as the VMC extraction ductwork. The value of the wall-doubling can be seen by the water supply and wastewater pipes running along the exterior wall, which will eventually be covered by the doubled wall.
The wall framing along the side wall also provides a space for all the electrical cabling, water supply and wastewater pipes to run.
July 2014
The plasterwork has been done in Ensuite 1 and wall tiles installed, the bath has been installed and tiled and the bathroom cabinets have started to be installed.
August 2014
Ensuite 1 is now nearly finished, with the toilet, sinks and showerware installed. The only things missing are the mirrors and the glass shower screen. And all the colourful bath towels to add that splash of colour!
