Progress - Laundry
February 2014
The old Maid's Quarters room will be converted into a Laundry and Shower Room for the self-contained apartment on the 2nd Floor. Water had previously been available in this room, but had long since been disconnected. The shower will be approximately where the old sink was located, while the washing machine and dryer will be on the Rue Gambetta wall. The photo on the right shows Thiery Giraud threading the hot and cold water pipes to the Laundry through the ceiling from the back of the Toilet room.
June 2014
The plastering has now been completed in the Laundry/Shower room, and is now awaiting the installation of the shower, basin and appliances.
The first tiling job for the renovation (working from the top down) was in the Laundry. When it was finished, the non-rectangular nature of the house was clearly evident.
July 2014
The next job was the installation of the shower and wash basin and cabinet (with the new door to the Lightwell platform showing in the background).
August 2014
In preparation for the arrival of the band, the washing machine and clothes dryer were installed in the Laundry. The VMC system will extract the moist air from this room to ensure that it doesn’t become too humid in this area.
